HOUSTON, TEXAS September 25th, 2014 Kandice Rose, Co-Founder of Pretty Girls with Cancer (PGWC) Charity Organization heads up another fabulous fundraiser where 100% proceeds go to support Too Pretty 4 Cancer, a new PGWC program.
In a fantastic celebration of life, hope, and survival, over 15 cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, families and friends will “rip” the runway in the Kouture 2 Fight Kancer Fashion Show. Females of all different cultures, ages and sizes will relish in all the extravagant joys of womanhood! They will enjoy having their crowns and faces mesmerized by professional hair/make-up artists, and model carefully selected stylish designs by local Houston boutique owners. “I am particularly excited about the Kouture 2 Fight Kancer Fundraiser. I have been to great fashion shows before but this one is special. When dealing with cancer it is easy to focus more on the ugliness of the disease than on the beauty that we still possess internally and externally. Kouture 2 Fight Kancer gives a powerful, life celebrating reason for all survivors and caretakers to put on their fabulous wigs now”, exclaims the three time cancer survivor. This event includes door prizes, live music, a silent auction, cocktail reception, heavy appetizers, and all guests receive exclusive Pretty Girls with Cancer Thank you gift bags and more! Ticket costs are more than reasonable at $20 General Admission and $50 VIP, which includes valet parking, one drink, catwalk seating and a souvenir bag. Pretty Girls with Cancer is a 501c3 Charity under the Pink Rose Organization. With no cost to those they serve, they provide various educational and social services including referring local businesses in the PGWC Network to assist with physical appearance needs such as wigs, make up and clothing. PGWC personally reaches over 300 cancer patients in the Texas Medical Center. Through partnerships with hospitals and organizations they extend the arm of support to a broad base of women in need. Kouture 2 Fight Kancer is Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Café 4212. Show starts at 7:30 pm, doors open at 6:00. TGIF!!!!! I'm sure you all are just as excited about Friday as I am. It seems as though this week flew by! Fridays are when I usually indulge in my favorite pass time.....SHOPPING! lol Today's outfit post is of a simple graphic top with denim skinny jeans. Well, I say the top is simple, but if you look closely, it is a bit edgy. I never realized the detail until after I made the purchase. The shirt has skulls all over!!! I had to laugh when I noticed; however, I managed to make it soft and girly with my clutch purse/pumps, plus it was only $3!! Yes, my favorite Rainbow store (in Katy Mills Mall) closed its doors, so everything was 50% if not more!! Gotta love those deals! This is a great look for casual Fridays at work and definitely play thereafter :) My hair is pushed up in a high puff style. This was an old twist out that still had definition. I used a Goody hair band to keep in tact. Feel free to share/comment! Until next time..... Photography by: Monique HarrisHappy Thursday everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend like I did! Today's post showcases how I stepped outside of the box! I never wear leggings/tights without a long tunic tup to cover up. I decided to try something different with my mock neck-cut off sleeve top and scuba/knit tights. Once I added black/white accessories as accents, I was completely impressed with how the look came together. This outfit is definitely ideal for a night out on the town! Tidbit: Don't be afraid to take risks with your wardrobe, especially if it is in good taste and remains classy. My hair is blown out with bangs. I made a mini bun and pinned up the back. To blow out my hair, I use Twisted Sista products. See here... Feel free to share/comment! Until next time... Photography by: Monique HarrisHello everyone! I know you're just as excited as I am to be halfway through another work week! Although my allergies have been out of control, I can't get enough of spring! Today's outfit post is of a cute midi skater dress with my favorite animal print! It's perfect for this time of year. What I love about this chiffon dress is its versatility. For an evening out, I can remove the sweater and wear heels instead of sandals. I made the look casual with wedge sandals and minimal accessories. The print is so bold, I felt there was no need for much accessorizing. I am definitely ready for a lunch date & shopping! lol My hair was pinned up all around with a side puff in back. This is an easy style to create and my other "go to" when I need a break from the high puff. This is a fashion event you don't want to miss!!! Hopefully, I will see you there :) Last week I mentioned my love for blooming flowers during spring time; therefore, I feel this is the most opportune time to wear such prints. For some reason, floral patterns just scream SPRING to me! Today's post showcases my cute floral dress with neutral accents. I decided to keep the look subtle with nude colors. It is light and delicate which is perfect for the spring weather. This is definitely a date night outfit :) Tidbit: If you're not into pastel colors, soft neutral hues are great substitutes. I paired the dress with nude colored heels, a beige clutch purse, and gold/pearl accessories. It is a simple, yet appropriate look for spring. My hairstyle is a high bun with a pompadour in front.
